William L. Rowland, M.D.

Dr. Rowland was born in Miami Florida in 1964, moved to Melbourne Florida in 1970.

Dr. Rowland went to undergraduate and Medical school at University of Florida, and then did a three year residency training in Family Practice at Tallahassee Regional Medical Center. This was followed by a year Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Adult Fitness training at Marshall University in Huntington West Virginia. After completing Fellowship in 1994, he moved to South Florida and began practicing in Fort Lauderdale out of Imperial Point Medical Center, then after four years moved his family and practice to Boca Raton.

Dr. Rowland has worked with High School, College, and Professional athletic programs including four years with Florida Marlins baseball team and even has a 1997 World Series ring.

After formal training in residency and fellowship with included dermatological rotations, additional training in Dermatology was obtained by focused continuing medical education and by volunteering and shadowing local dermatologists on a weekly basis for many months. Additionally, Dr. Rowland is member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging, and has completed significant medical training in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement and Anti-aging Medicine.

Dr. Rowland is married with four children.  And, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, running, golfing, and spearfishing with his boys.

 Carlos Suero, MHS, PA-C

Carlos is a board certified Physician Assistant concentrating in Primary Care and Family       Medicine.  He received his medical training, including a Master’s of  Health Science and  Physician Assistant certificate from Duke  University Medical School in 2009.  Before joining  Boca General and Family Medicine in November 2012, Carlos worked for Duke Primary Care and Duke Urgent Care for over 3 years.  His main focus was managing chronic diseases, as well as taking care of acute cases.

After spending the first 5 years of  his life in Caracas,Venezuela, Carlos and his family settled in the South Florida area. Carlos speaks fluent Spanish and English. He received his Bachelor’s in Science from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island and was a four-year member of the Division I Big East Conference men’s soccer team.

He currently lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his wife, Lauren, and two dogs, Cooper and Tucker. When he’s not practicing medicine, you can find Carlos on the soccer field or on the walking trails with his dogs!

 Melissa Persaud, MMS, PA-C

BioMelissa Persaud is a nationally board certified Physician Assistant specializing in Primary Care and Family Medicine. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Miami in 2008. She completed Physician Assistant training from Miami Dade College and earned her Master of Medical Science degree from Saint Francis University in 2017. She is currently certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.

Melissa was born in Miami, FL and has traveled extensively, including a year abroad in Africa and Asia assisting in cataract surgery campaigns for a non-profit organization. She currently lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she enjoys exercising, practicing yoga, photography, traveling, fishing, painting and reading in her spare time.


What we do

Our goal at Boca General and Family Medicine is to have all patients treated as we would want our family members to be treated. This is one of our motivations for using information technology to improve access to care and information.
